James Custer

Pekin High School

Coach at Pekin High School from 1943 to 1967. During this time his teams won

* 16 Illini Conference Championships

* 9 M-S Conference Championships

* 12 Big 12 Conference Championships

* 11 District Championships

* 8 Sectional Championships

* 4th in the State in 1944

* 2nd in the State in 1960

* 4th in the State in 1967

He developed a total of 31 State Place winners of which 6 were Individual State Champions. Served as Grand Marshall in 1978.
